High Five For Friday (a little early)

I won't be able to get on the computer tomorrow so I figured I needed to do High Five For Friday tonight!

My week has been CARRRAAAZZZZYYY. Too crazy.

1. My cousin graduated from Alabama with a 4.0 GPA. Roll Tide!

2. My hubby's movie is going well! We had the crew over for a cookout on Saturday and the fun started on Sunday. However, I am super glad it is only a few weeks. Life has been a little nuts! Here is a picture from Thursday while watching a few scenes be filmed. Also, this was him filming a time lapse of Trinity Hospital for whom he is doing a commercial this week. Thanks to our buddy Logan for keeping him company!!

3. Praying through Operation World

4. Snuggling with my babies

5. Only 1.5 weeks of school left!!!
Happy weekend!

Traveling

Missions have not always been an important part to my life. I grew up knowing about "other people" around the world and at times, praying for them. It was not until high school that I began to see the importance of joining with the body around the world to pray, support, and encourage them. This happened on my first trip out of the country for missions to Honduras. I thank God that He has lead me to pray for countries, to give, and to go. One thing that I do that helps me learn more about other countries and pray for them daily is Operation World. This book gives details of each country concerning religion, language, number of believers, etc. It also gives you a prayer guide for the year for each country. I keep it next to my bed and pray for the countries at night. It opens my eyes and reminds me of my need for Him, the grace that lead me to Him, and the world outside of my own.

Today, Compassion International has a team in Tanzania. Please visit compassionbloggers.com and look under "our trips" to find out more about what they are doing, keep up with their blog, and pray.
This is another way to partner with fellow believers in prayer.

Clean Sink

I found a quick homemade cleaner for a pretty sink. I did a little modifying but otherwise it was great!

1. fill sink with hot water and some vinegar (maybe a cup)

2. make a paste (mix baking soda and water together)

3. scrup sink and rinse

4. use a little oil and wipe the sink down with the cloth to make it shiny

Done!

High Five for Friday part 2!

Has it already been a week? I haven't blogged since the last high five for Friday.
It has flown by.
Top five:
1. Car buying day! I had a day off Monday and was able to spend 7 hours at a car dealership! Definitely wasn't planning that. We thought it would be a little longer before we got it but we are grateful for a great deal!!! On top of that, Aaron and I enjoyed the day together. It was so important because, well, over the next few weeks it is going to be hard to spend quality time together.

2. My dad's birthday weekend!

3. My grandfather comes to speak to my class each year about World War II and specifically his time in Germany. We are reading the Hiding Place and the concentration camps where Corrie is prisoned is in Germany. My grandfather got to see some concentration camps. It is such a special time for me.

4. ABC 33/40 filming in my classroom

5. Only 2 and 1/2 weeks left of school! and only 2 weeks before Aaron's movie is done being filmed!!!! (it kicks off with a cookout at our house tomorrow. as in it hasn't even started) Grateful for his job. Jesus keeps providing! We are blessed so that we bless others. Ps 67

Five top things for this week:

1. Aaron is off on Saturday (but not on Sunday) but still this means we get to sleep in tomorrow! Last Saturday, he left at 3:30 a.m. Not exactly the best sleep... So yea for sleeping in and raspberry waffles! and no school Monday! long weekend! I'll take it!

2. My grandfather's birthday was this week. 87 years old. He is speaking to my class this week on World War II. I look forward to it every year and am grateful that he is with us to do this.

3. My puppies are snuggle bugs! We love it!

4. Only 17 more school days before summer!

5. Our gate for our driveway comes in this week!
Happy weekend!

a few pictures and favorites...

After being married for 7 months, there are a few things that are my favorite times.
I'm going to blog on it soon. It will be a great memory for when we are 60 (God willing) and can look back.

Here are a few pictures from this week:

one of my favorite times: hang out time with my man and our babies- any night that we get to have at home, we end it with just some chill time in the den cuddling with our babies.

Seeing an old friend and Aaron getting to meet him!

It's a long weekend for me! I'm so looking forward to it. Happy weekend!

Soaking up His presence and wanting so much more

I am so grateful to have access to the Word of God and to be able to study it and share it. Nothing that I have done put me in such an honor to know His Word. I did not do anything to be born in an area that has access to the Word of God and the gospel. That blessing is not only for me but for me to share with the nations. (Psalm 67)

I am grateful to be in a position where the Lord puts His Word in front of me repeatedly. I get to spend time with Jesus alone, with Aaron, and with my students. With my students, I get to say the same thing over and over (5 times to be exact) and I tell them that THAT IS A GOOD THING. I need to have reminders every hour of His Word.

Today's devotion with my class was the idea that God does not need you and me. That is a good thing. If He needed us, we would be dependent on something else and not be God.
I was reading an excerpt from AW Tozer's Knowledge of the Holy and he is talking about how we sometimes see God as some puny God who is begging for our help to accomplish His plan. He would be able to accomplish His plan without us but praise God that in His love, He desires us to be apart of His plan.
Our lives should now be selfish beings humbled before a selfish God (and rightly so! If He was about anything other than Himself, that would be the thing to praise, not Him)

May it be so with the Lord's help to accomplish His purposes....

Praise Jesus for grace!

Seek more of Jesus and less of earthly things.

Happy Easter!

2 Corinthians 5:14-15
For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all and therefore all have died. And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for HIM who died for them and was raised again.

Spring colors

I have noticed a common color in my classroom and home for the spring: teal. I typically just like neutral colors or greys but spring always calls for a little more color. Does anyone else change out some decor in your home and/or classroom for the seasons? You can't paint walls every season so at least you can change a few decorations and change it up. Dishes, sheets, pillows, curtains, bulletin boards (classroom), etc.

What's your favorite color this spring? This little man even loves the teal!
Happy spring!

Compassion partners with Sevenly

I have mentioned Compassion International on my blog before but just as a review of who they are, they partner with local churches in countries around the world. Through sponsorship, they provide food, education, and medical support to meet their needs. You can write to your sponsored child and even take a trip to visit them. I have been apart of this organization for almost 10 years and it is definitely been a blessing.

Visit here to learn more

To know more about Sevenly, visit here

This partnership will last through next Monday, April 9 at exactly 9:59 a.m. PST

So what's so special during this time period?

1. If you sponsor a child before April 9, you receive a free t-shirt from Sevenly.

If you already sponsor a child or are not able to do that at this point then see this:

2. If you buy a t-shirt from Sevenly, they will donate $7 to provide a life-saving mosquito net to children in Rwanda. Why life saving? Children die of Malaria every 30 seconds according to Compassion.com

So definitely check this out. Here is a link that will connect you with the children in Rwanda to sponsor. Rwanda sponsoring
